In our last developed app, All Dealzz, the team decided to follow a new approach for product development and the end results were astonishing. We saved time on communication, project flow management, agile requirements analysis and overall product development. How?

We followed SCRUM

The technology stack used for developing All Dealzz consisted of Android, iOS and Ruby on Rails. So, we had to rope in 3 departments together along with the UI/UX designers and business analysts. Since we knew that the time frame for this complex app was more than 8 months, we wanted to make sure that the base is set from the very first day and the entire project is managed and executed well.

The approach for Scrum that we followed was pretty simple. Everyday in the morning, a team meeting was held for 20 minutes and it comprised of all the members from each department working on this project. The tech lead would take the initiative and discuss out the work done for the last day and the tasks ahead along with any complexity faced by any department in developing or designing a particular module or feature. A notedown of the same was taken everyday and based on that tasks were modified or assigned through the project management tools the team use. We made extensive use of Trello for this project.

On the whole, the Scrum model for product development is highly recommended by &Apps
